Yuji Itadori is the protagonist of the original Jujutsu Kaisen series, known as Earth's strongest living sorcerer in the era of Modulo. Now 68 years after his defeat of Ryomen Sukuna, Yuji has not aged due to the effects of Kenjaku's experiments, making him effectively immortal while all his original allies have grown old or passed away. He has been living off the grid, refusing to be used as a deterrent by the jujutsu establishment. He finally appears in-scene in Chapter 19, entering the Tokyo battlefield not to fight Dabura — which he deems unnecessary — but to manage the cursed spirits escaping the chaos and protect those he cares about from a distance.
Yuji's mastery of Black Flash — a technique that distorts space and amplifies cursed energy output — remains at the absolute peak of human sorcery. In Modulo, a single Black Flash from Yuji is enough to incapacitate Osuki, who had survived Yuji's initial surprise attack that took out every other sorcerer in the area.
Yuji demonstrates an application of blood-based technique in Modulo — firing a small blast of blood at Mino that induces severe flu-like symptoms. This appears to be a development from his possession of the Death Painting techniques in the original series.
